Everything you need to know about Uber Pro

Uber Pro UK is a structured rewards program introduced by Uber in October 2019 to recognise and reward drivers for their dedication and quality service. The program comprises four membership tiers - Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond - each offering a range of benefits designed to enhance the driving experience and help drivers save over £1,000 a year.
Here’s everything rideshare drivers should know about Uber Pro, from how to maximise their membership to what kind of rewards they can access.
How does Uber Pro work?
All Uber drivers start at the Blue level and receive its rewards automatically, with the option to opt out.
To progress to higher tiers and unlock greater benefits, drivers must meet specific requirements and earn points over a three-month reward period.
How to maximise Your Uber Pro Membership
1. Offer quality service to your passengers
To qualify for Gold, Platinum or Diamond tier, you need to have the following:
Driver rating of 4.85 or above: Rating based on the last 500 rated trips.
Cancellation rate of 4% or below: Calculated for the past 30 days. This rate represents the number of trips a driver confirmed and then cancelled. If you cancelled trips at the pickup location because your passengers didn’t show up or for safety reasons, it wouldn’t count against your cancellation rate.
2. Complete trips to earn points
If you meet the requirements stated above, the next thing to do to reach a new Uber Pro level is acquire points.
Here are the points required for each Uber Pro level, for London Uber drivers only:
Blue – all driver-partners
Gold – from 500 points
Platinum – from 900 points
Diamond – from 1,300 points
For each trip you complete, you get 1 point. To reach Gold level, you must complete 500 rides during three months. At two trips per hour, you should work around 19 hours each week to complete the 500 rides needed. That’s very realistic, as half of UK Uber drivers work over 30 hours per week. If you aim for the higher tiers, it becomes more challenging. It will take 35 hours of driving per week for Platinum and 50 hours a week for Diamond, at two trips per hour.
Fortunately, trips during peak hours are rewarded with 2 points instead of 1, between 6:00 am – 10:00 am from Monday to Friday and between 10:00 pm – 4:00 am on Friday and Saturday nights. Therefore, with 650 rides completed exclusively during these hours, you can reach the highest level, Diamond.
IMPORTANT: Uber Pro is a rolling program, so drivers must maintain their points level every month to keep receiving benefits.
UK drivers who aren’t based in London must reach more points to get to each Uber Pro level — 600 points for Gold, 1,200 for Platinum and 1,800 for Diamond.
3. Enjoy your rewards
Each level unlocks a variety of rewards, available to you once you have achieved that status. Some rewards might be subject to additional conditions.

How can I keep my current Uber Pro Level?
To keep a level you’ve achieved — Gold, Platinum, Diamond, you must have the minimum points needed at the end of each three-month reward period.
At the start of the new reward period, your status is determined by the points you earned in the previous three-month period. You can upgrade to the next level at any time during the three months reward period if you earn enough points.
You must also maintain the quality standards. You won’t be able to reach a higher level even having the points if your rating falls between 4.82 and 4.84 and your cancellation rate is between 4.01% and 10%.
IMPORTANT: If your rating falls below 4.82 and your cancellation rate rises above 10%, you’ll lose your Gold, Platinum or Diamond level.
To regain the status, you must return to a 4.85 or above rating and a 4% cancellation rate.
Is Uber Pro worth it?
At first, reaching and maintaining these ratings might seem like too much work. However, plenty of our drivers have stated that Uber Pro keeps them motivated and help them reduce their costs, especially their charging costs if they drive an EV. Therefore, if you invest some time and effort, there’s a double win — you enjoy the Uber Pro rewards and save money whilst offering your passengers a 5-star ride experience.
Here are the main advantages of being an Uber Pro driver:
Higher rewards for your effort on the road – you get discounts on fuel or charging costs, priority airport rematch gives you higher and faster pickup chances, and you can choose where to go next using the option ‘Destinations’.
Opportunities for you and your family – you or a family member can access fully-funded online short courses towards an undergraduate degree with the Open University.
Protection and support – you can benefit from Unique-to-Uber vehicle interruption cover and have access to fast responses from experienced support agents when you have an issue.
About Splend
At Splend, we believe in drivers. We know their vehicles need to work harder than most; that they drive more miles than most; that their insurance is hefty; their maintenance costs high and that they can face unreasonable finance rates – which is a heavy load to carry on their own.
That’s why at Splend, we exist to support rideshare drivers with a new model, that takes all those car ownership costs, and provides them for less, with lower purchase prices, better rates, lower servicing and insurance costs – all for one weekly repayment, all in one place.
