Choose the Plan and terms that suit you. Own a Tesla Model 3 on our Flexi Own plan, where one weekly payment pays down your car, as well as covering ownership costs (such as rideshare damage and loss cover, registration, servicing and replacement tyres and brakes). Or Try before you buy on a low-commitment Flexi Try plan. Our 4 year Flexi Own plans have a minimum 6 month term and our 5 year plans have a minimum term of 12 months. Flexi Try has a 6 week minimum term. Set up fees apply.

Splend is designed specifically for rideshare drivers, offering two flexible vehicle plans to suit your needs.
Our flagship plan, Flexi Own, allows you to work towards car ownership while benefiting from all the inclusions necessary for a hassle-free experience. Each payment you make goes towards paying off your car, and once you make your final payment, ownership can be transferred to you for $1.
If you prefer to test the water to see if being a rideshare driver is for you, Flexi Try enables you to try before you buy. Flexi Try comes with all the on-road inclusions of Flexi Own, except you don’t own your car at the end.
Whichever option you choose, Splend covers everything, including insurance, servicing, registration, and maintenance.
Getting started with Splend is very easy and straightforward. First, fill in the enquiry form on our website. Then, one of our team members will contact you to understand your needs and help you choose the perfect car for your rideshare business. You’ll then be invited to book an appointment at one of our hubs, where you can test drive the car and finalise the sign-up process. Once that’s done, you can pick up your car and start enjoying hassle-free driving.
We understand that costs are a crucial factor for Rideshare drivers, which is why Splend offers transparent pricing and all-inclusive packages that aim to be cheaper than you would get organising the buying, financing and owning costs yourself. Our weekly payments include all your car ownership expenses such as registration, servicing, maintenance and damage and loss cover, and are typically much cheaper (and certainly more convenient) than managing everything yourself. There's also a one-off establishment fee to get started. If you exceed your weekly mileage limit, additional charges of 10 cents per km apply, but these charges go towards paying off your vehicle earlier.
Splend makes car ownership easier, more affordable and more accessible for rideshare drivers by building everything they need to earn more, pay less and stress less into one affordable weekly payment.
Your weekly payment not only covers the cost of the car (think about this as what you would pay a finance company to pay off a car you bought and financed the ordinary way) but also covers all the essential ongoing costs associated with owning and operating a rideshare car. These include: registration, rideshare specific damage and loss cover, scheduled servicing, ongoing maintenance items (like replacement tyres and brakes), 24/7 roadside assistance, access to an Uber approved courtesy car if you car is damaged in an accident or needs to be repaired due to a warranty issue, plus other exclusive Splend driver benefits.
At the completion of your Flexi Own contract, we’ll charge you a $1 balloon payment for transferring the car to your name.
You’ll also need to pay the government stamp duty. This is a separate tax so is not charged by Splend. You will need to pay this either online or at your local service centre where you go to renew your motor vehicle license.
Please note the stamp duty amount will vary based on the Australian state or territory you live in, as well as the market value of your car at the time of sale. For example, in NSW, you must pay $300 in stamp duty for a car valued at $10,000.
There are three options:
At-home standard charging – using a regular 240V wall socket and the cable provided with the vehicle
At-home fast charging – installing a fast charger, specifically for your car
Public charging stations – at any of the over 1600 locations available in Australia, as of September 2024. Locate them using Plugshare (plugshare.com).
It depends on car model, battery size and charging level:
Standard, 240V home wall socket – adds around 10 km of range per hour. Most EVs require at least 11 hours to fully charge
Professional home charger – adds between 40-100 km of range per hour, depending on the vehicle model. A standard range EV can be fully charged overnight using this charger
DC fast charger – adds up to 150 km of range per hour.
Ultrafast DC charger – the fastest way to charge your EV. It can fully recharge some electric cars in as little as 15 minutes.
It depends on where you are in Australia, on battery size and charging level.
Charging costs are based on kWh (a unit of energy). Currently public fast charging costs between 40c – 80c per kWh and this is determined by the market.
Home charging rates will vary based on state and your electricity plan and provider
Even using fast charging stations, it will cost you a lot less to charge your electric vehicle than to fill up a petrol or hybrid car with fuel.
Here’s a simple comparison, based on a weekly travel distance of 1000 km, using national average fuel and electric charging prices as of September 2024:
Cost of petrol for a Kia Sportage: $165.75 per week (85l/1000 km x $1.95 per litre)
Cost of charging a Polestar 2 EV: $37.50 per week (75 kWh x $0.50 per kWh)
